PRATHOM DANCE  (โนราบทประถม)

              Every Nora group in southern Thailand normally uses the Prathom dance as its basic performance. Lyrics and gestures show a symbolic linking to swans and also imitate the animal’s behavior. An example of the lyrics is as follows:

"Lion lives joyfully while the deer leaps around

Acting like they powder their faces

The Golden Swan swims in the pond

“He-ra” (crocodile) slashes the water all along"
